Restaurant in Santa Caterina market

The plan was to build a restaurant inside the market of Santa Caterina in Barcelona, recently refurbished according to a project by Miralles-Tagliabue. The intervention must respect a series of lines taken from tradition, among which we must emphasise two: the first is that of the market canteens and the second the project lines begun with the general intervention on the market complex. The new restaurant is organised into a series of longitudinal bands resting against the external façade of the building; a powerful shelving unit-pantry, a line defined by two tables and a service bar, a series of individualised tables combined with planters and a battery of different bars resting against the internal façade, in which different types of cooking are proposed.
