National Subaquatic Archaeology Museum

Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra, arquitecto

Description Technical file

The architectural project is comprised of two buildings: one is parallel to the wharf, prism-shaped and opaque from the outside, while the other is glazed and boasts an irregular floor plan. It corresponds with the skylights of the Museum's exhibition hall and confronts the first building, generating with it a new urban area. This space functions both as a public square and an open lobby for the new Museum; at the same time city and architecture, architecture which accents the urban dimension and which distances itself from its status as an object in order to become landscape.
