Description Technical file

The site forms a corner on one of the two main axes of the Ensanche, designed in 1862. The restrictive urban byelaws that govern this area compel to repeat the profile of the party walls, recess the attic floors in accordance with a curved guideline, chamfer the corner and build a tower on it. A double façade solves not only the urbanistic requirements but also others concerning energy, fire resistance and acoustic insulation from the outside. This double shell is not a skin but a volume whose permeability, habitability and passability benefits the workspace. Through this volume the building breathes and enables the spatial exchange between interior and exterior. The folds in the facade generate multiple views from the interior towards the streets that cross below and, from the top floors, towards the landscape that surrounds the city.
