D3 Design Talent

D3 Schools, D3 Contest y D3 Professionals are the three events that made up the seventh edition of this competition, conceived as a platform to give an opportunity to young talent. This form allowed emerging designers to present their product ideas and prototypes at the same time as consolidated companies did so. The D3 Contest competition featured 30 products by 33 designers from 12 different countries selected by a judging panel composed of recognised designers such as Konstantin Grcic, Johanna Grawunder and Stefan Diez. The three best products selected were: Hand forged aluminium series by Julien Renault; Cabinet filled with shadows by Jessica Hansson and Etirement by Remi Bouhaniche. The space where young independent designers and design studios could present their creations was D3 Professionals, while D3 Schools showed outstanding projects from several universities with product design, interior decoration and architecture departments.

Pure Village & Interior Trend 2010

The latest trends in furniture, product design and interior decoration concepts all came together in a space fitted up in the trade fair site. Under the art direction of Dick Spierenburg, Pure Village featured impressions, different design approximations and ideas by large and small brands at the head of today’s design world. The central idea sought to go beyond the simple rectangular spaces in which each company tends to display its products, to create a zone of shared trends. Under the title Interior Trends 2010, the designers Cecile Manz and Johanna Grawunder presented their proposals based on four relevant design disciplines: Trickery, Comfort Zone, Rehab and Discipline. In addition, the space hosted a series of conferences and round tables on topics such as design, colour and lighting, new materials and shape and function.
