IMM 2020

13.01.20 - 19.01.20

The most up-to-the-minute novelties and trends in furniture and decoration worldwide will be on view yet another year at the upcoming edition of the IMM trade fair, which will be staged in mid-January in the German city of Cologne.

In the eleven pavilions of the Koelnmesse trade fair site, visitors will become acquainted with the latest trends in furniture and decoration—from furniture for the living room, bedroom and kitchen in the lower-priced segment to the most exclusive international design; the offering will be complemented with textiles, home accessories, lamps and carpets—and to make purchases in a straightforward way. The parallel events (high-quality conferences and events revolving around trends) plus the conference programmes will provide attractive added value.

The 2020 edition will offer a market overview with a unique diversity of product worlds and furnishing styles. In order to help visitors navigate the show, IMM will be divided into interior worlds based on the product offering. Following the successful introduction of interior worlds Pure Editions and Pure Atmospheres in the Pure section in 2019, next encounter will see the restructuring of the northern section of the fair, which will be called “Home” in future.

Every year, the international interiors show IMM cologne presents a different, very personal vision of contemporary living, created by hot young designers and design teams from around the world. Over an area of around 180m² in the middle of the Pure Editions area, Hall 3.1, “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage” is constructed and fully furnished in accordance with the plans of the respective nominated designer. Das Haus 2020 will be a project of the Valentian team MUT Design (see more info about Das Haus 2020 here). “Mediterranean life is synonymous with outdoor living. Das Haus 2020 will explore interior design by means of opening the space up to the outdoors. Our houses have always integrated a little bit of nature into their interiors” say Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón MUT, founders of MUT. In their native Valencia they create furniture, carpets, tiles and lamps for the interiors sector, as well as designing hotels and exhibitions. All their work is characterised by a tendency towards simple, soft, circular shapes. Their creations, which have won major accolades such as the Red Dot award, exhibit forms with a vaguely unfamiliar quality or translate a familiar shape into a modern design.
