100 Contemporary Brick Buildings

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe said that “architecture begins when two bricks are carefully put together. It is born there”.

This two-volume series travels the world in search of the most fascinating and innovative brick buildings erected in the past fifteen years. The selection took into account renowned architects such as Tadao Ando and Peter Zumthor as well as new talents such as the Argentine Diego Arraigada and the Vietnamese Nguyen Hai Long.

The hundred buildings included showcase the broad variety of uses in cultural and domestic spaces, infrastructures and recreational facilities, such as for example the Tate Modern’s Switch House by Herzog & de Meuron in London; the Thread culture centre by Toshiko Mori in Senegal, the Brick House by Diego Arraigada in Argentina and the auditorium in Llinars del Vallès, by Álvaro Siza, in Barcelona.

Hard cover, case with 2 volumes, 648 pages.

Multilingual edition: Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
