Winners of the Young Talent Architecture Award 2016


On 28 October the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale of Venice hosted the prize-giving ceremony of the Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA) 2016.

Of the 211 dissertation projects of the architecture, urbanism and landscaping degree entered by 268 students from more than 100 schools and 86 European cities, the judging panel chose three projects:

“GeoFront. Strategic development plan for the frontier territories”, by Policarpo del Canto Baquera, Madrid School of Architecture, Polytechnic University of Madrid.

“A symbiotic relation of cooperative social housing and dispersed tourism in Habana Vieja”, by Iwo Borkowicz, Faculty of Architecture, University of Leuven.

“S'lowtecture. Housing structure in Wroclaw-Zerniki”, by Tomasz Broma, Faculty of Architecture, Wroclaw University of Technology.

YTAA is an initiative of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, which is supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe. This new award fosters the talent of young and newly graduated architects, town planners and landscape architects.
