Heimtextil 2017: the return of home textiles

Heimtextil, the leading worldwide trade fair in home and contract textiles, opened its doors again from 10 to 13 January 2017 in the facilities of the Messe Frankfurt site.

A total of 2,963 exhibitors from 67 countries (businesses and professionals associated with textiles, design and trends, manufacturers, distributors and designers) presented their products and innovations to the almost 70,000 visitors who attended the year’s first trade fair in its sector, a barometer for the rest of the year’s trends.

Under the slogan of “Explorations”, the Trends space, one of the most prominent at the trade fair, invited visitors to enjoy a spectacular route around four trends for the 2017/2018 season: virtual, natural, cultural and planetary explorations, with a broad range of new prints, textures and innovative materials for applying in a variety of textile environments such as the home, transportation, retail and collective facilities.

Trade visitors showed growing interest in home textiles, which are back for finishing naked walls and cold floors. Curtains, rugs and decorative cushions add a note of personal colour and create more welcoming spaces.
