The forest of light

Yet another year, the Cos installation at the Salone del Mobile carried the signature of the Sou Fujimoto firm. The reputed architect took inspiration in the fashion label’s Spring-Summer 2016 collection to create an interactive space that would play with the visitor’s perspective. The darkened zone was illuminated by light cones that responded to movement. Sounds composed for the occasion, a subtle mist and mirrored walls generated a landscape in which the spotlights turned into abstract trees in a forest of changing light.

According to Fujimoto, “The Cos pavilion is the purest understanding of the forest concept. This forest is not static; it incites to interaction. This interaction connects fashion, space and forest as a form of architecture”.
