Winners Laus Awards 2016


The FAD’s Association of Art Directors and Graphic Designers (ADG-FAD) presented the Laus Awards to Graphic Design and Visual Communication of Barcelona at the now traditional Laus Night, a celebration of graphic art that serves as a meeting point for hundreds of the industry’s professionals and which has become an essential benchmark for learning about the year’s most relevant creative proposals.

Nearly 1200 projects were entered for this 46th edition, of which 203 won in five different categories: Graphic Design, Digital, Advertising Creativity, Audiovisual and Students. Also presented are the Honour Laus, the Laus Awards for Enterprises and Institutions and the third edition of the Laus Aporta – Fundació Banc Sabadell Award, which includes the professional and student categories.

This year a total of 2 Grand Laus, 1 Young Talent, 21 golds, 61 silvers and 116 bronzes were presented. The 2 Grand Laus went for the Javier Jaén Studio for «The New York Time Magazine» and DDB for «Holograms for freedom». Maria Martí, of the Elisava School, received the Young Talent Award with «Nu.», and «Think, the veggie ink», by Eva Vesikansa of the IDEP School won the Laus Aporta-Fundació Banc Sabadell Award for Students.

The Honour Laus 2016 was awarded to Yves Zimmermann, a Swiss designer belonging to what is known as the Basel School and who arrived in Barcelona 55 years ago to transform the Spanish design scene. Zimmermann has been editor and professor at schools such as Eina or Elisava. In 1995 he was awarded the National Design Prize.

The winners of the Laus Awards will be displayed at «The Best Design of the Year» exhibition in the Disseny Hub Barcelona until 30 October.
