Heimtextil 2016

ON359 - MAR/2016

More than 69,000 visitors and 2866 exhibitors from around the world came together this year at Heimtextil 2016 held in Frankfurt from 12 to 15 January: figures that exceeded those of the previous staging and which left the organisation highly satisfied thanks to the important increase in attendance. The number of visitors from countries such as Italy, Spain, Sweden, Russia, Japan or South Korea saw a specially important rise.

“Experience” was the central theme of Trends 2015/16. This space, one of the most prominent in the trade show, brought together multidisciplinary experts from the field of textiles and trends from all over the world, who presented their predictions according to 4 keystones. New products for the home that appeal to our growing interest in tactile and sensory impulses at “Sensory”; patterns, prints and colours that chaotically clash with each other in “Mixology”; new materials in “Discovery”; and classics such as cotton, wool or linen, which have never ceased to be present in homes, in “Memory”.

The International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles showcased numerous novelties relating to the use of any textile element applicable to interior decoration. Trevira CS announced the winners of the awards through which the manufacturer recognises the best fabrics made from its characteristic polyester fire-resistant yarn; Crevin presented ARC, a 3D wool fabric in a three-dimensional design and a range of colours that alternates bright colours and elegant earthy hues; and Pongs presented the new SILENCIO® and AKUTEX® acoustic fabrics.

The digital sector has yet another year made its mark in trends by displaying its latest innovations, and leading brands such as HP seized the opportunity of presenting their latest novelties in latex printing techniques.
