Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2016

ON 359 - MAR/2016

For a few days, a new edition of the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair transformed Stockholm into the European capital of design. This was a must-attend event for the best Scandinavian and international design, bringing together the principal Nordic lighting and furniture brands and attracting nearly 40,000 visitors, a fourth of them foreigners coming from up to 60 different countries.

Prominent among the principal novelties was the Editors’ Choice, a new award organised by the trade show, which recognised Foscarini as the best stand, and Aloto, a design by Dirk Winkel for Wästberg, as the best product.

Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby were the Guests of Honour of the last Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. They designed a vast open space for it, divided by felt screens.

Each space represents a relaxation, meeting and work space. Illuminated with paper lampshades, equipped with wooden chairs and floor and decorated with animal furs. A tribute – according to its authors—to the cold Stockholm winters.

During the Stockholm Design Week, the Form Us With Love design studio presents the ‘I-X’ exhibition, its first retrospective ten years after it was founded. Ten intense years in which the Swedish studio has succeeded in generating its own language, consolidating some outstanding national and international firms and earning merited media recognition thanks to its frequent achievements in the sectors of furniture and lighting.
