Zaha Hadid, 1950-2016

The architect Zaha Hadid has died in Miami in March at the age of 65.


Born in Baghdad and a graduate in mathematics from the American University of Beirut and in architecture from the Architectural Association of London, Zaha Hadid launched her own architecture practice in London in the year 1979. Ever since, her vision of architecture and design has been reflected in unique buildings all over the world as well as in the design of furniture, lighting and jewellery.


Zaha Hadid won the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2003 and the Pritzker Prize in 2004.
