Enjoia’t 2015

8 October saw the prize-giving ceremony of the Enjoia’t Awards 2015 at Barcelona’s Moritz Brewery. Showcased at the party were the twenty-three shortlisted works: creative, painstakingly crafted pieces made from surprising materials and techniques.

The jury comprised the jewellers Ramon Puig Cuyàs and Jorge Manilla; Monika Szpatowicz, assistant director of the Srebro Festival at Poland’s Legnica Gallery; Piotr Rybaczek, director of La Basílica Gallery of Barcelona, and Magda Polo, who holds a doctorate in philosophy of art and is the chair of A-FAD.

In the Professional category, the Enjoia’t Award 2015 was presented to Lauren Kalman (USA) for her piece “Device for feeling a Void (2)”. The first finalist was Anja Eichler (Germany) with “Eight States of a Heart” and the second finalist work was “Past, Loss, Future, no. 19” by Christine Jalio (Finland).

In the Student category, the winner of the Enjoia’t Award 2015 was Akiko Shinzato (United Kingdom) for “Eyes & Nose” of the “Wearing Makeup” series. The first finalist was “Soberbia” (Haughtiness) from the “Siete historias” (Seven Stories) series by Erica Jordán (Valencia) and the second ex aequo finalist was Cristina León (Valencia) for “La presencia de la ausencia” (The Presence of Absence) and Mercedes Lamagrande (Tarragona) for “Ser” (Being).

The Enjoia’t Opinion Prize 2015 was awarded to Laura Paglieri (Barcelona) for “Stone Ages”.
