Jacques Rougerie Foundation International Architecture Competition

The Jacques Rougerie Foundation, under the patronage of the Institut de France, has called the International Architecture Competition on the sea and space. The foundation is calling interested people in the fields of architecture, design, urban planning and art to participate in a competition centring on the opportunities offered by the exploration of the sea and space. The competition has three categories (with prizes of 10000 euros for each one of them), with a respective subcategory on a concrete aspect:

- Innovation and Architecture for the Sea – Louis Vicat (subcategory: the ports of the future).

- Innovation and Architecture for Space (subcategory: solar energy satellites).

- Architecture and elevation of the sea level (subcategory: the African coast).

The projects, which can be submitted by people from all nationalities and ages, either individually or as part of a team, should deal with proposals that serve the sustainable use of natural resources and provide a response for humanity’s environmental and technical problems through the architectural exploration of the sea and space. The prize-giving ceremony will be staged in January 2018. The chosen projects will be included in an international database managed by the foundation, which already holds those corresponding to the award’s 6 previous editions staged between 2011 and 2016.

The deadline for entering works is 19 November 2017.
