Hábitat 2017

The trade show for furniture, lighting and decoration is going back to being staged in the second semester of the year to adapt to the needs of a newly reactivated industry that is demanding a powerful national and international trade platform bringing together all the styles that comprise it.

DESIGN, in capitals, will be the big star in this edition, with more than fifty talks, conferences, activities and exhibitions with prominent names such as the winners of the National Design Awards Miguel Milá or Mario Ruiz and the Argentine Diego Gronda, who will take part in the nude generation Agora.

Other recommended activities are: the ‘ACTIU Meeting Point’ forum of conferences, the conference series of the Valencia Disseny Week, the exhibitions mounted by the ADCV Valencian Region Designers’ Association, the talks by ANIEME (the Furniture Export Association) and FEDAI (the Federation of Lighting Device Exporters), and the ACA Spain technology zone.

The return of Hábitat to September has propitiated the return to the trade show to benchmark firms such as Fama, Dupen Group, Muebles Ros or Schuller, from the contemporary, upholstery, bedding and decoration industries which in recent editions had not had a significant presence in Hábitat’s showcase. These new exhibitors will join leading firms in segments such as design, cutting edge, lighting or high-end decoration which have already been present in recent years.

Staging it in September will also increase the dimensioning of the trade show among national buyers. As Daniel Marco, the new director of Hábitat, explains: “these past three editions in February have allowed us to gain a foothold in the contract segment and to grow in internationalisation. Now is the time to grow in the national market and among Spanish buyers”.
